Introduce yourself!
Hi, my name is Matthias Knauth and I will be joining Credmark as the new Head of Product, starting in Dec 2021.
As I will play an integral role between the Credmark team, the community and partners, I would like to share with you my motivation, my background and my goals as Head of Product.
Why Crypto? Why DeFi?
Coming from traditional finance, I was first attracted by the fast gains you could make in crypto. Later on, I fell in love with the fundamental concepts and ideas of creating a decentralized world that is inclusive for everyone regardless of gender, citizenship, religion or how wealthy one’s family is.
Within DeFi, I see the power of decentralized communities and how that can really change the world. Especially in creating something powerful and fair, which can withstand practices that only benefit the wealthy.
But I see that the way to this ultimate goal is not easy and is not for everyone. Thus, I want to help make crypto and DeFi a better place that is suitable for more and more people who are on their journey to financial independence and self-sovereignty.
Why Credmark?
In the money lego building blocks of DeFi, such a thing as Credmark is really unique. Offering data integrity in a world where one could imagine every information available on the blockchain is crucial. Moreover, it is important to apply certain financial models from the tradfi world to DeFi as similar risks exist in DeFi and the method of adjusting parameters work the same way.
What is your Background?
I worked in the legacy finance world for over 10 years, seeing everything from commercial banking, equity research, trading to IT project management. As a result, I have a strong grasp of how this industry operates. The industry is surrounded by many smart people with experience in financial models, game theory, and risk metrics.
What do you want to achieve?
As the new Head of Product, my goal is to implement a clear product vision, while simultaneously taking into account Credmark’s vision together with the community’s expectations. I want lay down concrete actions and steps on how to get there.
Over the past years we saw how rapidly the whole crypto space was evolving and how it is constantly changing. Thus, my task will be to continuously review and iterate our offering and the features we provide so that we always have a clear product fit with the goals of the community. .
